Proof by mathematical induction:

Given enough time Thomas can count to every number in ℕ.
Basis:

Inductive step:
We assume that Thomas can count to the direct predecessor n-1 ∈ ℕ of the wanted number n ∈ ℕ.
He then counts to the number n by increasing n-1 by one. ∎

Now that we have established that I can count to every number ever I have to show that I have actually enough time to actually do so.
Counting takes time. I'm going to give myself a lot of time for every number: 10 seconds.
With 10 seconds spend for every number I need 10,000,000 seconds to count to 1,000,000. That's the same as 166666 minutes and 40 seconds. And that's the same as 2777hours, 46 minutes and 40 seconds. And that's the same as 115days, 17 hours, 46 minutes and 40 seconds.
Now given I have to sleep and eat and stuff... I'll assume I "only" have 8 hours to count every day. That means for every 8 hours of counting there will be added 16 hours of doing other stuff. So we can triple the time needed. That brings us to 8333 hours and 20 minutes, which is the same as 347 days, 5 hours and 20 minutes.
Which is undeniably doable in my lifetime. ∎
